Face-to-Face Training

AFRA offers face-to-face training with our experienced trainer, Max Graham.  Each course has a minimum of 8 people and maximum of 10 people.

We offer the following options:

  • Training for your employees only at your site.
  • Training offered at your site for your employees and allow other members' employees to attend this training.

If you decide to host or run a face-to-face training on your site, you will need to make available items to be packed or items to be shipped (eg: tables, lounges etc), a truck or container, packing materials (eg: tape, pads, etc).

The following face-to-face courses currently offered are:

Pack & Unpack

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to pack and unpack items during a removal, including preparing for the removal, packing items in accordance with the removal plan, loading/unloading the boxes onto/from the removal vehicle, manual handling techniques and workplace health and safety.

The course trains participants how to:

  • Prepare for the packing.
  • Pack and unpack cartons.
  • Complete the packing/unpacking process.

The course includes:

  • PowerPoint presentation and manual.
  • Demonstration on how to prepare pack and unpack items for removal.
  • Participants will then have to demonstrate what they have learnt by packing and unpacking items.

The trainer will assess each participant for competency by a practical demonstration of the following tasks:

  • Prepare for a household item/s to be pack removal;
  • Unpack item/s;
  • Manual handling of boxes;

Handling Furniture & Effects for Removal

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to handle furniture and effects during a removal, including preparing for the removal, moving furniture items in accordance with the removal plan, loading/unloading the furniture onto/from the removal vehicle, manual handling techniques and workplace health and safety.

This course trains participants how to:

  • Prepare furniture & effects for a removal.
  • How to move furniture items for uplift.
  • Load and unload a removalist vehicle.

 The course includes:

  • PowerPoint presentation and manual.
  • Demonstration on how to prepare furniture & effects for removal.
  • Participants will then have to demonstrate what they have learnt by preparing furniture & effects   by loading and unloading a truck with furniture.

The trainer will assess each participant for competency by a practical demonstration of the following tasks:

  • Prepare for a household furniture & effects removal;
  • Manual handling of a range of household furniture and effects;
  • Use a range of lifting and carrying aids to handle household furniture and effects;
  • Load and unload a furniture vehicle.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you wish to cancel your registration, or are unable to attend a training session, you must notify AFRA by email or telephone immediately.

Cancellations received minimum 10 days prior to training will not be charged the training fee.

Cancellations less than 10 business days prior to training will be invoiced 50% of the training fee.

Cancellations less than 5 business days prior to training and non-attendances are subject to payment of the full training fee.

 Registrant substitutions may be made at any time.
